She is darkly handsome, with a long, hard face that looks as if it is used to anger.
When Rand, pretending to be Tomas Trakand, a cousin of Caraline's, bows to Darlin as if to an equal, she mutters angrily under her breath. When Darlin and Caraline invite Rand and Min (pretending to be Tomas and Jaisi), back to the rebel camp, Darlin tells Ines and a man named Rovair to give their mounts to Rand and Min, and that a walk in the air will do them good. She steps stiffly down from her silver-gray mare, not looking pleased. When Ines and Rovair are left behind to walk, the other mounted Tairens shout laughing wishes that they will enjoy their walk.
